About
TallyBrix helps homeowners, DIYers and small contractors in the US work out what a building or home project needs and what it costs, and leave with a plan they can print.
Hi, I’m Revanth
I’m Revanth Karra, the person behind TallyBrix. I studied Mechanical Engineering, so working with measurements, formulas and units has been part of my life for a long time.
After college I worked as a software test engineer at Wipro and IDC Technologies. My job was simple to explain: find the mistakes before the users do. I tested business software, tracked and helped fix hundreds of issues, and made sure each release worked the way it should. Today I’m also studying for an MBA in Data Science.
I started TallyBrix because most online calculators give you one number and no explanation. If you are about to spend real money on concrete, shingles or gravel, you should be able to see how that number was worked out. So I build every calculator the way I used to test software: each one shows its formula, includes a worked example you can check by hand, and is tested automatically every time I change anything.
I’m not a contractor, and I don’t pretend to be one. That’s why the calculators stick to counting materials and adding up costs, use figures from manufacturers and trade references, and tell you clearly when it’s time to call a licensed professional.
I’m based in Hyderabad, India, and I build TallyBrix for homeowners and contractors across the US. You can find me on LinkedIn or email me at karrarevanth8@gmail.com.
What you’ll find here
Free calculators for roofing, concrete and masonry, gravel and soil, paint, drywall and tile, decks, stairs and fences, pools and ponds, and everyday measuring, plus estimates, invoices and other paperwork for contractors. Each one turns your measurements into the numbers a store or supplier asks for: squares and bundles, cubic yards and tons, bags, sheets, gallons, posts and boards.
Every calculator comes with a plain-English guide: how the answer is worked out, a worked example, the common mistakes to avoid, and a clear note on when to stop and call a professional.
What I believe
- Accuracy comes first. One wrong number costs trust, so every formula is checked by hand and against a trade reference before it goes live.
- Show the working. You should never have to take a number on faith. Every result shows how it was calculated.
- Your prices, not mine. Prices vary a lot across the US, so I never present a national price as fact. You enter your own, and any example figures are clearly labelled.
- Know the limits. The calculators do not size beams, footings, retaining walls or anything else structural, and they do not give electrical or plumbing instructions.
- No sign-up. Everything works without an account, and your project list stays in your own browser.
How the site is funded
TallyBrix is free to use and is supported by advertising. Ads never appear inside a calculator and never change a result. If I ever add affiliate links, they will be clearly labelled.
